So...as some of you have already guessed, it looks like this "sabbatical" is going to wind up being more of a permanent retirement after all. Since this blog has been more or less dormant for the past 2 and half months anyway, I'll make this quick.
The reasons are many and varied, but mostly it boils down to the fact that for some reason (as my wife is quite fond of noting) virtually nothing I do is a matter of degree: I'm either all-in, or I'm all-out. I haven't been all-in to the Underground for quite some time, and as the rather tepid nature of my last few posts suggests, I haven’t really missed it all that much.
I haven’t lost any of my passion for politics, mind you, or my certainty that the creepy nanny state collectivism championed by the Obamites is the antithesis of everything worth giving a damn about in American life. But I’ve reached a point where the personal rewards of blogging in this particular arena just aren’t there for me anymore. And if I’m not enjoying myself, trust me- neither will you.
To the few blogger regulars who still check in here at PJU on a regular basis, I’ll still be following your work. Thanks for the support, and keep fighting the good fight!

PS- I haven’t quit blogging entirely; I’ve just quit being so damn serious about it. If you’re a football fan, especially of the Washington Redskins or Virginia Tech, please feel free to visit me at The Pigskin Pit. If you like horror movies- new, old, good, or bad - you might find something worth reading at The Bleaux Leaux Reveaux.
